Located in Kenosha on the North end of Sheridan Rd., and just a short drive from Carthage College, Waterfront Warehouse is a great place for good food, a great selection of cold beer and some amazing drinks.
I visited the Waterfront Warehouse and met with managing partner Dino Katris in September of 2018 after frequenting this stop with my clients and family since they first opened in May of 2016.
After Katris’ company (Roots Hospitality Group) had success in with neighboring La Fogata, I was excited to try Waterfront before it even opened, and in the 2 and half years of visiting since, I have yet to be disappointed in either the food OR the service.
Of course its easy to fall into ordering just your favorites when going to the same place often, and I am guilty of this habit myself, even though I write food reviews, so having Dino pick my dishes for my video review was great.
Typically for an appetizer, I jump for the Tijuana Rolls which are tasty Mexican inspired fried won-tons for an appetizer. Of course I am a WING NUT and I had already tried the Coconut Curry (my wife’s favorite) and the Mango Habanero, but at the end of the day I’m a sucker for a GOOD traditional Buffalo wings though, and I definitely love me some blue cheese.
If I’m “carb loading” (US ITALIANS LOVE TO CARB LOAD) The GREEK Fries or the Truffle Fries are a great choice and very shareable.
I LOVE the Rib-Eye Philly sandwich and coming in at $16.99 is the most expensive item on what is overall a VERY reasonably priced menu, and worth EVERY penny ( AND BITE – YUM!)
My other two GO-TO meals there have always been the BBQ Pulled Pork and the Steakhouse Burger.
Waterfront warehouse was only my second 262EATS Video production Episode 2 – Season 1 ) and when I came in for the shooting of this episode, I told Dino, as I tell ALL my hosts to make for me what they would make for someone coming in for the first time, not knowing their palate.
Dino offered up his (NOW FAMOUS) Bandito Burger. This AMAZING treat starts out with double stacked 4 oz patties of fresh beef and then adding chorizo and chihuahua cheese, homemade guacamole, grilled jalapenos, and then smothered in a white queso sauce on a toasted brioche bun. (BOOM! INSTANT NEW FAVORITE )
Although I didn’t get to eat ON camera, I also had the chance to sample the Caprese Salad that visit, which was fresh and tasty.
I finished the visit with the Thai Chili Wings. (Remember I said I was a “Wing Nut”?) Well THESE morsels were the absolute bomb-diggity and I have ordered them since already!
Overall the visit was a success and a great wrap for our second episode ever!
Waterfront definitely is one of the best places in Kenosha for wings, burgers, sandwiches, creative appetizers and of course a great selection of COLD craft beers. These guys DEFINITELY GET IT DONE and I can’t think of a better place to SHUT UP AND EAT!
